Innovation: For all that’s yet to come

Working at DSM has never been more exciting. New technologies, new materials, new opportunities, new challenges, new countries. And you can you help us solve challenges in all of these areas, and more.

Our involvement in emerging business areas ranges from medical devices that go inside the body to solar glass inspired by a moth’s eye.

Over the next few years we’re going to increase the percentage of sales created by new products and applications introduced in the last five years. from 12% of our portfolio to 20%. With our overall portfolio diversifying all the time, the bottom line is that by 2015 we’ll need a lot of products that simply do not exist today. And you can help us create them.

Global R&D and innovation

R&D centers play an important role in innovation. DSM has state-of-the-art R&D centers in the Netherlands, China and India – all soaking up knowledge and feeding this into our organization.

Increasingly, we find ourselves looking beyond the four walls of DSM to the vast array of potential partners and collaborators in our chosen markets (and sometimes in new ones). This open innovation strategy includes everything from pro-active venturing to licensing and intellectual property policies. So even though you’ll be working for DSM, there’s a good chance you could find yourself working alongside virtually anyone and everyone. An exciting prospect, isn’t it?
