Carotenoids are vital nutrients for many species, including humans. Some carotenoids protect against damaging oxidative reactions in the body. Some serve as a source of vitamin A. Poultry need carotenoids for healthy growth, metabolism and reproduction. The only problem is they can’t produce them inside their bodies. Therefore the animals depend on the adequate feed provided.
