Take it to the bridge
It used to be said that composite resins - which are reinforced with fiber glass rather than concrete or steel - could never be used in construction. Too brittle. Too flimsy. Not tough enough…
Not any more. In fact by 2030 we expect 20% of all bridges to feature composite materials.
Bridges built using DSM composite resins are nearly twice as energy efficient as their traditional counterparts and are far more durable (with less rust and general degradation). Because the composite materials are lighter and more pliable, engineers and architects have more flexibility to create bridges that don’t just work better, but also look better. More>
The sweet smell of success
When a large, underground concrete sewage pipe cracks or bursts you can usually be guaranteed two things: An awful smell; followed by a large hole in the ground, to mend the pipe.
Not so thanks to our ATLAC® PREMIUM resin, which can be integrated into the lining of an underground pipe and then cured via steam or water.
This effectively forms a brand new composite pipe with an estimated lifespan of 50 years. Which means no road works, no traffic jams, no lost working and leisure hours, no unnecessary exhaust fumes, and most importantly (unlike traditional epoxy-based solutions), no stench. More>
