Winning the downhill battle
If you’re a skier, you’ll know that the ski bindings are virtually as important as the skis themselves. In order to keep you on your feet, bindings need to withstand sharp movements, sudden impacts, cold temperatures, harsh weather conditions, and strong sunlight.
In short, ski bindings don’t have it easy. Which is why our glass-filled Akulon® polyamide 6 is increasingly being used as the material of choice for ski bindings. It’s strong. And it protects the skier thanks to a high-impact resistance at temperatures as low as -20C.
A renowned ski and ski-binding brand owner says: “We rely on Akulon resin for ski binding components because this material offers greater design and decorative freedom than metal while delivering the exceptional performance and safety that we insist upon. To maintain our global leadership in the ski equipment market, we require breakthrough technology combined with design innovation, and we have found both in Akulon resin.” More>
