DSM joins The Sustainability Consortium
In December 2011 DSM signed up as the latest partner of The Sustainability Consortium, a global platform that drives scientific research and collaboration to develop global science-based measurement and reporting systems and standards for more sustainable products and processes. DSM’s experience in sustainability reporting will help address the increased demand from stakeholders around the globe to more accurately quantify and communicate the sustainability of products.
High standards in sustainability reporting
DSM already has robust reporting systems in place to measure and report on progress in sustainability. DSM’s high standards in sustainability reporting have been recognized over the years with a GRI rating increased to A+ in 2009, and the no. 1 ranking in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index in 2011 for the third consecutive year and the sixth time in total since 2004. In 2007 and 2008, the two years when DSM was not ranked number one, the company was still among the leaders in the sector.
In addition, in November 2011 DSM was awarded De Kristal 2011, a prestigious Dutch prize for the most transparent sustainability report.
