Improving our eco-footprint
One of the great dilemmas of our time is how economic growth and the desire to create wealth and well-being for all people worldwide can be reconciled with the need for climate protection. After all, rising demand increases industrial activity, resulting in pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
At DSM we’re finding solutions to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and improve the eco-footprint of our products during their entire life cycle. For example, we have developed technology for producing second-generation biofuels to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Our coatings make solar cells more efficient. And materials made by DSM make cars lighter and more energy-efficient. We’re also developing new enzymatic processes that are far more efficient than conventional chemical processes.
