External recognition 2008

In the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index published on 4 September 2008, DSM was once again listed as one of the leaders in the chemical industry sector. In 2003 DSM was included in the Dow Jones STOXX sustainability index for Europe for the first time. Since 2004 DSM has been listed in leading positions in both the European and the global index every year.

According to the latest survey of Dutch companies by the Reputation Institute, a leading international institute measuring the reputations of the world's largest companies, DSM has improved its reputation markedly. In a study conducted in Q1 2008 in the Netherlands DSM came 10th, with a very good performance in comparison to the global chemical industry average.

According to the corporate websites performance study of the leading European web ranking agency Hallvarsson & Halvarsson, DSM.com was ranked 2nd best corporate website in the Netherlands, a steep rise of 11 places over the previous year. DSM scored particularly well for its Corporate and Investor Relations homepages, its Sustainability website, its provision of contact information and its calendars.
