The following itineraries are via motorways and from the various national borders:
From the north:
E.g. from Amsterdam, NL (approx. 225 km) or Groningen, NL (approx. 360 km)
- Travelling southwards via Eindhoven (NL) in the direction of Maastricht (NL).
- Follow the E25/A2 to the Kerensheide junction.
- Switch to the eastbound E314/A76 signposted Heerlen and continue to the Ten Esschen junction.
- Switch to the N281 signposted Heerlen and continue to the “Heerlen-Centrum” exit.
- Turn left at the end of the slip road and drive under the viaduct (Looierstraat).
- Take the 1st turning left (Het Overloon) and park your car in front of the first building on the left side of the road.
From the east:
E.g. from Cologne, D (approx. 95 km) or Düsseldorf, D (approx. 102 km)
- Travelling via Aachen (D) and the Bocholtz (NL) border crossing in a westerly direction towards Heerlen.
- Follow the E314/A76 to the Bocholtz junction.
- Switch to the N281 signposted Heerlen and continue to the “Heerlen-Centrum” exit.
- Turn right at the end of the slip road (Looierstraat) and immediately move to the left-hand lane.
- Take the 1st turning left (Het Overloon) and park your car in front of the first building on the left side of the road.
From the south:
E.g. from Paris, F (approx. 420 km) or Luxembourg, Lux (approx. 225 km)
- Travelling via Liège (B) and the Visé (B) border crossing in a northerly direction towards Maastricht.
- Follow the E25/A2 in the direction of Maastricht.
- As you approach Maastricht (at the Europaplein junction), start following the signs for Heerlen (A79).
- Leave Maastricht at the Kruisdonk junction via the A79 signposted Heerlen.
- Follow this motorway to exit 7 signposted “Heerlen-Centrum”.
- Turn left at the end of the slip road (first J.F. Kennedylaan, then Nieuw Eijckholt).
- Drive under the viaduct (Looierstraat).
- Take the 1st turning left (Het Overloon) and park your car in front of the first building on the left side of the road.
From the west:
E.g. from Brussels, B (approx. 130 km) or Antwerp, B (approx. 130 km)
- Travelling via Genk (B) and the Maasmechelen (B) border crossing in an easterly direction towards Heerlen.
- Follow the E314/A76 to the Ten Esschen junction.
- Switch to the N281 signposted Heerlen and continue to the “Heerlen-Centrum” exit.
- Turn left at the end of the slip road, drive under the viaduct (Looierstraat).
- Take the 1st turning left (Het Overloon) and park your car in front of the first building on the left side of the road.
