Carbon Dioxide
Chemical formula: CO2
Chemical name: Carbon dioxide
Carbon Dioxide is a colorless, taste- and odorless, nonflammable, liquefied gas. It is naturally available as a very small part of the atmospheric air around us (0.03%). It is the main feedstock for plants. Plants turn carbon dioxide into oxygen, which sustains human and animal life on earth.
Carbon dioxide produced by DSM is a side product of the ammonia production in Geleen. The crude CO2 requires further purification to provide the required quality for food and beverage applications. Crude CO2 is used in the production process for Melamine (via Urea ) and Caprolactam. Crude CO2 is supplied via pipe on our Geleen (NL) site.
Hydrogen
Chemical formula: H2
Chemical name: Hydrogen
Hydrogen is a colorless, taste- and odorless, explosive gas.
Hydrogen is produced in our ammonia plants as an intermediate product for the production of ammonia and is used for the hydrogenation of various products on the Geleen site.
Hydrogen is supplied via pipe on our Geleen (NL) site.
