DSM is connected
to Elemica. Elemica is a connectivity hub that can best be compared with a
telephone exchange. Instead of transferring spoken messages from the sender to
the receiver, Elemica transfers electronic transactional messages.
Connecting without an ERP system
If DSM's customers do
not have a fully integrated ERP system, Elemica offers these customers the
possibility of automating part of the order process by using the so-called
Elemica Buyer Direct. The customer sends an order to DSM via an internet
connection with Elemica and receives the order confirmation via email, while
DSM receives the order directly in its ERP system
