How does it work?

Traditional process
  • Customer detects critical stock level
  • Customer sends order to DSM by fax or phone
  • DSM enters order into its ERP system
  • DSM confirms order
  • DSM delivers material to customer
  • Stock is replenished

VMI process
  • Stock level data and customer forecast are sent to DSM electronically
  • DSM replenishes stock
  • Customer's stock is at required level
