External recognition

In the second edition of the Plant Manager of the Year competition, Eward Hofstede, plant manager of DSM Resins in Schoonebeek, the Netherlands, was named as the winner.

This competition is an initiative of the Petrochem journal and the Netherlands Chemical Industry Association (VNCI) in cooperation with Deltalinqs, which represents the interests of companies in the Rotterdam port area, and the Rotterdam Port Authority.

In the Engineering/Natural Science/IT section of the 2009 Universum IDEAL™ Employer Rankings Dutch Student Survey, DSM was ranked the 4th best employer in the Netherlands, a significant rise from 10th place in the 2008 survey.

Universum is a global leader in employer branding.

In March 2009 Aukje Doornbos, a Plant Process Engineer at DSM, was elected Dutch Young Professional of the Year.

The Young Professional of the Year election is an initiative of ICA (InterCompany Association, the association of young professionals in the Netherlands) and VK Banen, a weekly Dutch magazine on the employment market.

In December 2008 DSM China Limited was named China’s Top Employer™ 2009 after rigorous evaluation from international employer appraisals and CRF, a professional publishing organization.

DSM was named China’s Top Employer™ for the Shanghai Region in 2007 and China’s Top Employer™ for both the Shanghai and Beijing Regions in 2008. With the company’s growth throughout China, DSM was named China’s Top Employer Nationwide for 2009.
