Our recruitment procedure

Applications and queries from graduates with a bachelor degree or higher are handled by the DSM Recruitment department. To ensure equal treatment for all applicants, we use a standard application procedure. Please note that for positions at the executive level, a different process will be applicable.

After receiving your online application (linked to a vacancy or an open application), we take the following steps:

  • STEP 1 - Evaluation of online application letter and CV
  • STEP 2 - Online assessment (where applicable)
  • STEP 3 - One or two assessment and selection rounds, including competency based interviews
  • STEP 4 - Discussion of terms and conditions
  • STEP 5 - Job offer

We aim to respond to your application within 14 days and on average, the complete procedure takes 8-12 weeks. If unfortunately your application is declined during any phase in the procedure, we will inform you in writing or in person. Applicants can always contact DSM to request additional feedback.

Applications from candidates without a university or higher education degree are handled by the local DSM offices. Learn more about the career possibilities in the Netherlands. For all other regions get in touch with a DSM office near you.
