The aim of the DSM Nutrition Award is to reward outstanding contributions to
innovative research in the field of human and animal nutrition by established
scientists anywhere in the world. The award is presented every two years and
alternates between the fields of human and animal nutrition. In 2007 the award
was granted for research on animal nutrition, in 2009 it will be granted for
research on human nutrition, and so on.
Human nutrition
With regard to human nutrition, the award aims to encourage and recognize
excellence in research that significantly broadens the world’s understanding
of the role of nutrition in human health.
Animal nutrition

scientific work that has significantly contributed to a) the improvement of
animal nutrition and health through innovative concepts and b) sustainable
animal farming.
The DSM Nutrition Award is presented during a major international event in the
research field in question. In the case of human nutrition this event is the
International Congress of Nutrition, which is held every four years.

European Association for Animal Production in Dublin (Ireland) on 28
