The aim of the DSM Performance Materials Award is to reward outstanding contributions to innovative research in the materials sciences by established scientists anywhere in the world. The award – which carries a cash prize of EUR 50,000 – is granted every two years.
Award presentation takes place at the bi-annual Macro World Polymer Congress of IUPAC, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. DSM has entered into a partnership with IUPAC for cooperation on this award.
The award for 2008 was presented at the Macro 2008 congress in Taipei (Taiwan) on June 30, 2008. The award for 2010 will be presented at the Macro World Polymer Congress in Glasgow (Scotland) in July 2010.
