DSM is deeply committed to promoting pioneering research that leads to products or applications that enhance people's quality of life. That is why we have an Innovation Awards Program in place to recognize and reward scientists outside DSM who have displayed excellence in innovative research.

• DSM Science & Technology Awards
  These awards aim to encourage young scientists in two European regions to undertake creative and groundbreaking PhD research. This type of research often lays the foundation for the development of new, knowledge-intensive industrial processes and high-tech products.
  
• DSM Nutrition Award
  This award recognizes outstanding contributions to innovative research in the field of human and animal nutrition by established scientists anywhere in the world.
  
• DSM Performance Materials Award
  This award, which will for the first time be presented in 2008, is also meant for established scientists worldwide. It recognizes excellence in innovative research in the field of performance materials.
