Prize

The DSM Nutrition Award carries a cash prize of €50,000.

Nomination

Candidates for the award are nominated by a Nomination Committee.
The Nomination Committee for the DSM Nutrition Award 2007 consisted of the following people:

  • Wilhelm Windisch, Professor of Animal Nutrition, Department of Food Sciences and Technology, University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria
  • Bernard Sève, Research Director, INRA , Mixed Research Unit 'Animal and Human Nutrition', Saint-Gilles, France
  • Carlos Simoes Nunes, Competence Manager, Animal Nutrition and Health R&D, DSM Nutritional Products, Village-Neuf, France
  • Viviane Verlhac, Principal Scientist (Aquaculture), Animal Nutrition and Health R&D, DSM Nutritional Products, Village-Neuf, France
  • Jiri Broz, Principal Scientist (Animal Nutrition), Animal Nutrition and Health R&D, DSM Nutritional Products, Kaiseraugst, Switzerland

These international experts used their extensive global networks to propose five to ten candidates to the Judging Committee , based on the following criteria: the originality of the candidates’ work, the quality of the work, its impact, links to potential products and the candidates’ scientific reputation.
