ß-lactamase inhibitor and blends (Clavulanic Acid)

Beta-lactamase inhibitors are compounds with poor anti-bacterial activity but are good inhibitors for Beta-lactamase. The use of such compounds with penicillin molecules have increased effectiveness against beta-lactamase producing strains of pathogens. An example is Clavulanic acid in combination with amoxicillin.
