History

1870 Nederlandse Gist- en Spiritusfabriek was founded.
1879 First Dutch company to found a workers council.
1940 Nederlandse Gist- en Spiritusfabriek started producing Penicillin G already during WW II (secretly, during the German occupation under the name BACINOL) and gradually added SSP’s and SSC’s to its portfolio.
1970 During the 1970's Gist-brocades became the world's no. 1 Penicillin G producer.
1990 In the 1990’s Gist-brocades expanded its production and sales network world-wide rapidly by several acquisitions and JV’s.
1996 Gist-brocades started-up its Clavulanic Acid production in Strängnäs, Sweden.
1998 DSM acquired Gist-brocades, to form a new leading group in beta-lactam antibiotics: DSM Anti-Infectives B.V. (DAI).
2003 DSM Anti-Infectives introduced the first enzymatically produced Amoxicillin in the world: Purimox. This was the first member of the DSMPureActives™ family, followed by Purilex and Puridrox all environmentally friendly produced Antibiotics with a very high purity.
2005 DSM Anti-Infectives restructured its global business in different regional Business Units, aiming to further increase our service towards the customer.
2006 DAI Anti-Infectives is a leading global supplier of APIs offering a variety of high quality products, such as DSMPureActives™ and Clavitesse™ to serve our customers needs.
