Bionate® II thermoplastic polycarbonate-urethane (PCU) is an innovative, medical polymer with built-in surface modification technology. It is designed for chronic implants, with enhanced processing and it is backed by an established FDA Master File.

A unique combination of toughness and inherent biostability make aromatic thermoplastic polycarbonate-urethanes candidates for use in chronically implanted devices. Bionate® PCU is one of the industry’s leading medical polycarbonate urethane lines and has been extensively tested.

• Patented surface modification technology: SAME® technology, utilizing durable self assembling monolayer end groups covalently bonded to the polymer backbone during synthesis
• More consistent surface properties than low molecular weight waxes which are susceptible to leaching, and which can cause bonding problems
