PurSil® thermoplastic silicone-polyether-urethane

PurSil® Thermoplastic Silicone Polyether Urethane is a copolymer containing a synergistic combination of soft segments: silicone and polyalkylene oxide. The hard segments consists of an aromatic diisocyanate with a low molecular weight glycol chain extender.

PurSil® thermoplastic silicone-polyether-urethane combines the biocompatibility and biostability of conventional silicone elastomers with the processability and toughness of Thermoplastic Polyether Urethane (TPU). The product is available as a standard 80A hardness grade with 20% or 35% silicone. Other hardness grades of silicone content may be custom synthesized and all grades of the polymer are available with various Surface Modifying End Groups (SME®).

Benefits
  • Biostability and biocompatibility
  • In vivo and in vitro stability
  • Excellent mechanical properties relative to conventional silicone elastomers
  • Hydrophobic, non-adhesive silicone surface
  • Thromboresistant
  • Outstanding elasticity
  • Available with various Surface Modifying End Groups®
  • FDA Master File
