DSM Coating Resins news archive 2003

To fulfill the increasing demands for more environment friendly paint systems, DSM Coating Resins is investing in a new reactor dedicated exclusively to the production of their Uradil range of water borne alkyds. The new reactor will be built at their Swedish production site in Landskrona and will be operational in early 2004.

Gerben Algra has been appointed Global Business Manager Polyesters of DSM Coating Resins with effect from 1 October 2003.

Don Verstegen has been appointed Business Group Director of DSM Coating Resins with effect from 1 May 2003. He was previously director of DSM Agro. At DSM Coating Resins he will succeed Bernard van Schaik.

Sharp and unexpected raw material price increases will lead DSM Coating Resins to increase the prices of powder coating resins, solvent based polyester resins, alkyd resins and acrylic resins in the order of magnitude of 10%. Effective date of implementation of this increase will be April of this year.

DSM Coating Resins is participating in the European Coatings Show, the international exhibition and congress for coating technology. The ECS 2003 will be held from 8 to 10 April in Nuremberg, Germany.

DSM Coating Resins and Rhodia PPMC have created a new waterborne binder for decorative paints. This new binder meets the demands of the various European countries and combines optimal environmental protection with technical performance.
