DSM Coating Resins will increase prices for solvent-borne liquid alkyd coating resins, by a minimum of € 0,05 per kg as of February 1 2004. The market for solvent-borne alkyd resins sold to the coatings industry has been weak for some time and there has been a prolonged period of margin erosion. A price increase is therefore seen as essential to reinstate profitability and to help fund the investments that the company will need to make in the near future.
