Gerben Algra, DSM Global Business Director for Powder Coating Resins, comments that the recent price hikes for crucial feedstocks and the increasing costs of freight, energy, and packaging force DSM to act and raise prices for its Uralac™ Polyester Powder Coating resin range sold in North America by $0.05/lb. These prices will be effective for all orders shipped on or after June 1, 2008 or as otherwise permitted by the terms and conditions of customer contracts.

High demand and oil-related price increases in the feedstocks part of the PCR value chain have resulted in price hikes for Terephthalic Acid, Adipic Acid, and Trimellitic Anhydride. No short term relief is expected due to continued high prices for base feedstocks.
