Airbag deployment conditions are more severe

Materials with identical property profiles based on standard laboratory testing, perform very differently under airbag testing conditions.

The forces generated in a few milliseconds create severe stresses that slower lab testing does not simulate.

DSM has developed special tests to routinely evaluate materials in this crucial respect.
