Arnite® XL for a clear advantage in headlamp bezels

A non-fogging bezel material stable to 160°C for better light quality

Arnite® XL provides a better solution than polyamide 66 or high temperature polycarbonates for bezel temperatures exceeding 130°C. Arnite® XL's low fogging behavior gives greater safety and extends lamp life.

•  Significantly lower volatiles compared to PA 66 and other PBT polyesters. No fogging on lens
•  No moisture uptake, no condensation on the lens as lamp heat drives out moisture
•  Comparable processing to polyamide 66
•  Directly metallizable without primer coating
•  More dimensionally stable than polyamide 66 due to moisture insensitivity

Streamline your bezel production operation by using DSM expertise on innovation

Applications and CAE expertise to realize your designs

Rationalize your materials for temperatures from 130°C to 160°C with Arnite® XL

•  Replace variety of PC’s for different temperatures above 130°C and PA66 or HT PC for 140°C + with a single material – consolidation and inventory cost reduction.
•  Higher flow than (HT)PC allows 30% thinner walls. More design freedom for compact headlamps and weight reduction
•  Thermally and dimensionally stable to 160°C, handles rising temperatures from more compact and complex lamp technologies
•  Better chemical and stress crack resistance than PC makes for more secure long term durability
