The equipment for hot gas welding consists of a heater unit to heat the gas and a nozzle to direct the gas onto the work piece. A range of nozzle shapes are available and selection is based on the type of weld preparation. The equipment is generally cheap, simple and portable, although more automated and expensive large scale production machines are available.
Hazardous hot fumes can develop during hot gas welding. Proper ventilation and exhaust equipment may be necessary.
