Productivity gains across the spectrum of auto connector applications

Enabling innovative design that contributes to cost down

Stanyl® takes the heat in biodiesel oil air mixtures

For unmatched connector performance in the more aggressive oil-air mixtures found with biodiesel fuel, leading producers turn to Stanyl. With proven performance of over 8000 hours at 160ºC, Stanyl comfortably meets industry specifications, retaining strength and toughness.

When temperatures exceed 200°C, close to the engine, Stanyl gives the greatest reliability and durability, usually at the lowest system cost. The risk of failures in assembly and use over the life of the vehicle are significantly reduced by Stanyl's high degree of toughness, mechanical strength at high temperatures and weld line strength. When connector designs call for film hinges that form an integral part of the closure, Stanyl has proven to be the toughest material available, meeting requirements of five flexings after ageing at 120ºC for thicknesses of 0.2mm. Using Stanyl enables connector manufacturers to achieve zero defect targets in assembly, reducing claims and lower overall cost per connection. More...

Connector design with lower profiles and lighter in weight are made possible through the unmatched combination of easy flow and strength retention at  high temperatures. Stanyl processes more easily than other resins that exhibit high temperature properties; it cycles faster - especially for the High Flow series - and enables consistent, trouble-free manufacturing:
•  simpler tooling demands
•  lower tool maintenance required
•  in multi-cavity tools, more cavities possible, increased productivity
•  unmatched shot-to-shot consistency
Connector design integrity is improved as lower shear is needed, also leading to lower plate-out compared to semi-aromatic polyamides or SPS.

Akulon® Ultraflow® : reduces your production costs

Akulon Ultraflow cycles faster than standard polyamide resins and can cut cycle times by up to 60%. Mechanical properties for Ultraflow grades are comparable to standard resins, so no compromise on performance. For new designs, Akulon Ultraflow allows thinner wall sections, longer flow paths or more tool cavities to be considered, leading to new concepts or further reductions in part cost.

For long term exposure at typical UTB (under the bonnet) temperatures of 150 - 170°C, PA6 is the better, more reliable solution. Polyamides have better mechanical performance than polyesters at higher temperatures and are tougher, withstanding abuse during the expected vehicle life. And PA6 has superior ageing performance compared to PA66, giving more reliability and durability throughout vehicle life.

Arnitel® TPE: Elastomeric solutions for flexible or watertight connectors
Arnitel TPE retains its flexibility over a wide temperature range, from -30ºC to +160ºC. Temperature stability at 160ºC meets automotive industry requirements, giving durable and reliable solutions when flexibility in the connector is required.
Arnitel TPE provides the best bonding to PBT when over-molding designs are being considered.

Arnite® for precision manufacturing

Optimised flow and mechanical properties improve productivity and give greater design freedom.
Arnite CCT grades of PBT can increase the level of precision between the design and molded part, lowering development costs.
