Optimized production processes for electrical installation components

A complete portfolio and the experience to make it happen

In the competitive market for electrical installation equipment

– switches, sockets, plugs and truncking –

optimized production processes are essential. We have extensive application knowledge and a complete range of engineering materials for installation components that helps you achieve logistics and production rationalization while still keeping the necessary design freedom for your competitive edge.

Making materials work for you

When brands are rationalized, functional parts have to comply with different design specifications. Choosing the right grade of engineering plastic is essential to give the performance required and still allow efficient, low cost production processing.

We partner our customers, who are all leading manufacturers of installation equipment operating in widely differing markets with their own standards and norms, in their rationalization projects. Together we identify the optimum solutions, which can range from choosing the right material that meets all the intended standards, to the development of new multi-functional designs.

Enhancing your design differentiators

Our Xantar polycarbonates and Xantar C PC/ABS blends can be colored to meet your brand and design needs. The color and processing consistency, both within batch and batch-to-batch  leads to lower scrap rates and higher machine utilization rates. The base color of our Xantar C blends is more consistent and stable than most blends. Coloring can be done during molding by using masterbatches, reducing inventory and simplifying logistics, and yet maintaining the high color standards required for your designs.

Xantar®  offers improved chemical resistance to household cleaning fluids compared to similar resins.

Akulon® polyamides are halogen and red phosphorus free and fullfil the more stringent ball pressure temperature and glow wire temperature requirements for parts that are in contact with live parts enabling low cost production especially when using masterbatch coloring  concepts.

Saftey is a primary concern

DSM materials are finely tuned to the flammability levels required by IEC and other norms

Main tests are:
 - Ball pressure
 - Glow wire

Most of the grades we offer are bromine and chlorine free. Special recycling measures to meet e.g. WEEE regulations are not required.
