| 18 Jul 2007 | Weight reduction in automotive applications |
|
Weight reduction is vital in automotive in order to help reduce fuel
consumption and emission levels to meet today's and future standards. One way
to reduce weight in a car is to design applications as much as possible in
plastics instead of in metal. As metal prices have increased more than the
cost of plastics raw materials, this can also lead to further system cost
reductions.
