We at DSM have been working very closely with Auden Taiwan , one of the largest mobile-phone antenna manufacturers in the world for the development of antenna covers. Antenna covers proved to be an application where a lot of materials were tested on various parameters to finally choose Arnitel®.
Software analysis using parameters of Dielectric constant, conductivity, and dissipation factor were used to simulate results for Voltage Standard Wave Ratio, where the solution provided by Arnitel® proved to outclass competitors for the application. Hand-Phones tested with Arnitel® antenna covers, emitted the least amounts of energy to the brain and proved to be the safest solution. Arnitel® also proved to be better than competitors on parameters such as Signal Gain (factor describing the signal intensity as a function of distance from the station) and Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (factor describing the signal quality as received by the other phone).
Arnitel® offers excellent moldability of the hand-phone antenna cover and is available in a variety of colors. This makes it easy to blend the antenna into the phone aesthetically. The reject rate for Arnitel® was very low which also ensured that the total cost of manufacturing the product was low compared with others. DSM provided excellent service to Auden during the whole development cycle.
