ECHO Inc., successfully serving the professional market lawn and garden
equipment for years, has introduced the new SRM 261 T trimmer that utilizes
Stanyl® TW200F6 in the muffler cover.
ECHO has managed to stay ahead of the curve by offering their customers the
very latest technology. “Our core skill set is around engines,” says Steve Bly
of ECHO. “We rely on suppliers to help us design and engineer using the best
materials.” One of those materials is Stanyl – a high performance, high
temperature polyamide.
Lawn and garden tools are exposed to increased temperatures due to government
regulations for exhaust emissions. Muffler covers used on the trimmer must be
able to withstand this heat and possess enough impact strength for daily use
and abuse. “Stanyl high heat polyamide is a perfect fit for the muffler
cover,” says Dave Weede of DSM, “because Stanyl can not only handle elevated
temperatures but unlike many other high temperature polyamides, it retains
almost all of its impact strength at these elevated temperatures better.”
Impact strength is severely tested when the covers are dropped and
transported, resulting in breakage.
