Electrical properties of Xantar® polycarbonates

Xantar grades have good intrinsic electrical insulation properties. Their low water absorption and high purity ensure excellent retention of properties in typical operating conditions.

UL Electrical Property ratings

Detailed listings can be found at www.ul.com. Ratings are available for hot wire ignition (HWI), high current arc ignition (HAI), high voltage arc tracking resistance (HVTR), high voltage arc resistance (D495) and comparative tracking index (CTI).

Typical ratings are:

  •  HWI Class 2 (special flame retardant grades class 0)
  •  HAI Class 0 to 1  depending on grade
  •  HVTR Class 2 to 3 for unreinforced grades, glass filled are class 0 to 1
  •  D495 Class 5 to 6
  •  CTI Class 2 to 3
