Delvocoat® L represents a major improvement in the prevention of yeast and mould growth on food.

It provides improved protection of the cheese surface by maintaining natamycin crystals in dipping bath and spray suspensions and by providing a homogeneous coverage on the surface to be protected.

A breakthrough in natamycin technology, Delvocoat® L is a patent protected liquid formulation based on natamycin and food grade stabilizers. Delvocoat® L is designed to provide complete protection in surface treatment of cheeses. It has major advantages over standard natamycin.

Reduced sedimentation

Natamycin in water has a solubility of 40 ppm which means that at higher doses natamycin is present in crystal form. These natamycin crystals act as a deposit and ensure continuous supply when natamycin is depleted. However, in a water suspension these crystals will settle. The stabilizers in Delvocoat® L help ensure that natamycin crystals stay in suspension, providing sustained activity where it is required.

Improved adhesion

When added to water, a natamycin suspension has very limited adhesion to a cheese surface. Stabilizers in Delvocoat® L increase the viscosity to ensure an homogeneous layer of natamycin over the entire surface.

Cost effective

Because Delvocoat® L results in a more homogeneous application of natamycin over the entire cheese surface, less natamycin is needed to ensure adequate protection.
