DSM’s breakthrough weight management ingredient, Fabuless™ continues to
achieve significant commercial success thanks to a brand new dietary
supplement recently launched in Europe. Registered as Slimthru® in the UK and
Ireland and Slimcup® in Austria, Germany and Italy, this is an innovative
single serve product, distributed by Melbrosin. This latest introduction
further demonstrates the growing demand for a new and convenient method for
consumers to manage their weight effectively.
Each 7.5 ml serving contains the effective dosage of Fabuless, an emulsion of
palm and oat oils which has been shown to reduce the feeling of hunger and
food intake at subsequent meals for up to eight hours. Slimthru / Slimcup come
in a single dose format which is convenient for use throughout the day. The
emulsion has an appealing creamy texture, neutral odour and slightly ‘oaty’
taste meaning it can be consumed either on its own or added to foods and
beverages of choice such as coffee, yoghurt or cereals amongst other
applications to promote a feeling of satiety.
“At Melbrosin, our policy is to create products which combine nature and
science –with Slimthru / Slimcup we are able to achieve that,” comments Helmut
Kerschbaumer, Managing Director Melbrosin, Melbrosin. “Choosing Fabuless as
our active ingredient means we can be sure of launching a natural product that
is easy to use and offers real consumer benefits. Clinical evidence to support
the effectiveness of Fabuless is extensive and we are confident these proven
results will be a key factor in the product’s success.”
Alan Wilson, product manager of Fabuless comments: “The weight management
market is hungry for innovation and that is exactly what this new single
dosage format represents. We are also delighted that consumer awareness of the
weight management benefits of Fabuless is growing, thanks to significant
advertising and promotion investment by our distribution partners.”
Fabuless is an innovative combination of oat and palm oils (both naturally
occurring dietary lipids) formulated in a novel emulsion. It works by
preventing the digestion of palm oil droplets until relatively deep in the
small intestine. Because undigested fat arriving in the ileum (the latter part
of the small intestine) triggers an 'appetite satisfied' signal to the brain,
consumers are able to reduce their calorie intake and still feel satisfied.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans, the Slimthru and Slimcup products will
initially come in packs of 12 or 30 and be sold via pharmacies and healthfood
stores.
