The ALLINCO™ technology is a newly developed, patented, DSM-owned technology that can be used in a variety of ways as a performance additive. The ALLINCO™ portfolio consists of four products:
- Carbonyl biscaprolactam (ALLINCO™ CBC)
- Phenylene bisoxazoline (ALLINCO™ PBO)
- Phenylene bisoxazine (ALLINCO™ PBOX)
- Phenylene monooxazine (ALLINCO™ PMOX).
The ALLINCO™ products have several functions:
- Linear chain extender
- Coupling agent
- Compatibilizer
- Acid scavenger (for improved hydrolytic stability)
- Polymer upgrading
- Prevention of process degradation
Applications
The main application of ALLINCO™ is polymer upgrading. In order to achieve improved mechanical properties such as strength, a higher molecular weight and an increased viscosity are needed.Such an increase in viscosity can be achieved by connecting polymers in order to create longer polymer chains. ALLINCO™ couples polymers by connecting the amine or hydroxyl groups. The most important areas of application for chain extenders are:
- PET and PA industrial yarns/fibers (high tenacity), monofilaments and strapping
- PET and PA recycling
- PA, PET, PBT and PLA engineering plastics.

Polymer upgrading:
With the ALLINCO™ technology, all granulate procedures allow products to be manufactured from recycled or lower grades of polymer granulate with the mechanical properties of the virgin material.

Economic benefits:
With ALLINCO™, a lower quality input material is sufficient. The process for upgrading the mechanical properties is simplified and it is no longer necessary to invest in costly equipment for post-condensation.

Different processing methods:
ALLINCO™ is added to the polymer during the processing thereof. The material can be added as a powder or as a master batch (in the case of a master batch: in cooperation with Clariant). In certain cases, e.g. in order to add UV-stabilizers, ALLINCO™ can also be used as a coupling agent.

Flexibility:
By varying the dosage rate, ALLINCO™ makes it possible to fine-tune the characteristics of the polymer so that it offers more flexibility in production and product grades.

Effective:
ALLINCO™ PMOX is the most effective hydrolytic stabilizer. ALLINCO™ PBOX is the only chain extender which also acts as an effective hydrolytic stabilizer.
Licensing
- Existing:
A major international company has taken out a license in South-East Asia and a number of producing companies buy ALLINCO™ products and use it to upgrade their materials.
- ALLINCO™ for you:
The technology is fully commercialized and is available for licensing to interested recyclers or end producers who manufacture products from recycled materials. DSM retains the responsibility for supplying the ALLINCO™ products.
