DSM Melamine today announced a melamine price increase of 100 EUR/mt for
Europe, to take effect from October 1, 2007
Heike Schaffrath, Director Marketing & Sales Europe, comments: “We need to
bring our business back to a sustainable level. For too long we have been
unable to raise our prices to sufficiently recover our increased feedstock
costs. The knock-on effect has been unacceptable and untenable for melamine
producers, leading to plant closures in Europe. With the strong and growing
European and global demand for melamine in a market that is becoming tighter,
we need to take this step now so we can continue to serve our customers as a
reliable partner who is there for the long-run.”
