Due to the catastrophic series of events related to Hurricane Katrina,
effective immediately and until further notice, DSM Melamine Americas, Inc. is
declaring force majeure conditions to be in full effect.
Pursuant to and in compliance with our obligations, DSM in the next days will
determine the projected volume of melamine that we will have available for
delivery during September 2005 and allocate on a fair and equitable basis.
The full attention of the global DSM Melamine team is focused on providing
support and guidance to DSM Melamine Americas in the coming days and weeks.
We will provide you with updates as more information becomes available and
keep you updated as information changes.

DSM Melamine Americas, Inc., operating from our headquarters office in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, USA, (~80 miles to the northwest of New Orleans) was able to
re-open. All of DMA’s office operating systems are now functioning as normal.
More importantly, all of DMA’s employees, their immediate families and
contractors have been accounted for. They are all safe and out of harms way.
The AMEL/Fortier manufacturing site and warehouse is not accessible and
contact with their management is not possible because all communications into
and out of the Greater New Orleans area have been virtually impossible
