Open Dag Chemistry
At the Open Day Chemistry, 7 October, held at Chemelot, school children were introduced to chemistry and process technique in an interesting way, through doing and experiencing things themselves. A special Education Plaza was designed for this with various activities preformed by DSM within the context of “promoting” chemistry and process technique.

Heerlense Bernardinus College wins Meet the Boss finale
- 100 secondary-school students debate about chemistry -
The Bernardinus College of Heerlen on October 3rd, 2006 won the nationwide finale of the Meet the Boss debating competition. The award and cash prize were received directly from the hands of 'boss' Rein Willems, president director of Shell Nederland and chairman of the Association of the Dutch Chemical Industry. Second prize went to the Twickel College of Hengelo.

Case Water4Life
The case Water4Life, written for higher vocational education (HBO) with support and contribution from DSM, concerns socially responsible companies combined with internationalization and long-term development. It is a case built around the company DSM, and with this project, DSM wants to make a contribution of her know-how to the millennium goals that have been set by the United Nations. Clearly the question arises as to what role should a multinational company like DSM aspire to as participant in the solution of the global drinking water problem that exists for more than a billion people.
