VevoVitall® is now registered in the European Union for use in piglet feeds
Today, VevoVitall® (the ultra-pure grade of benzoic acid) is
officially authorized within the European Union for use in piglet feeds in the
category ‘Other Zootechnical’. DSM is proud to be the first company to get a
registration for a feed additive following the new centralized procedure
1831/2003. VevoVitall® can now be used at a dosage of 5 kg/t of feed to
improve the growth and the welfare of piglets.
This new registration is the second approval for VevoVitall® in
the European Union. Its use in growing and fattening pigs decreases the
emission of ammonia in the environment. Studies also demonstrate that the
addition of VevoVitall® to pig feed leads to a benefit of EUR 1 to 3 per pig.
VevoVitall® is produced by DSM Special Products and distributed
