be showcased on the DSM Nutritional Products and DSM Food Specialties joint
stand at this year’s Vitafoods. It is also the chosen platform to launch the
Quality for Life seal; a major initiative created to guarantee ingredient
quality and sustainability, and to introduce the new QUALI-Blends brand. Other
highlights include Teavigo®, the outstanding green tea extract with its own
scientific data and a unique purity guarantee, and TensGuard™ - a new blood
pressure lowering product. Also on display are DSM’s coenzyme Q10 product and

Growing consumer awareness of food safety issues, together with demand for
traceable products developed in an ethical way means manufacturers are
increasingly seeking suppliers who can ensure the quality and origin of their
ingredients. DSM’s new ‘Quality for Life’ initiative represents high quality
food ingredients with guaranteed safety and complete traceability. Building on
the success of QUALI-C™, this concept has now been extended to include
additional human nutrition and health products under the ‘Quality for Life’

Teavigo offers customers a guaranteed source of pure and natural green tea
extract (EGCG) via its Seal of Guarantee. Introduced following consumer
research highlighting the need for quality assurance, this guarantee can now
be found on a number of commercial products. Thanks to DSM’s patented and
proven production methods, a standardised and assured purity level of 94%
(minimum) on dry basis has been achieved. Teavigo contains no caffeine,
herbicide or pesticide residues, has no smell and no known side effects. It
also has little or no impact on taste.
Vitafoods 2008 will be the first European trade show appearance for TensGuard.
Targeting the growing global market for effective blood pressure management
products, TensGuard contains active dairy Lactotripeptides, proven to help
control blood pressure and maintain a healthy heart. It can be incorporated
into a wide variety of applications including functional foods, beverages and
dietary supplements.
With new commercial applications scheduled for launch in 2008, innovative
diabetes management ingredient, InsuVital™, goes from strength to strength.
This natural, extensively hydrolysed casein consists of bioactive peptides
which work with the body to release insulin after intake. Manufacturers can
now create products clinically proven to help type 2 diabetes patients
actively control blood glucose levels after mealtimes.
All-Q® 10% CWS/S is a cold water dispersible coenzyme Q10 ingredient suitable
for energy drinks and fortified waters. A tablet grade is also available –
All-Q 10% TG/P – specifically developed for the production of tablets by
direct compression. All-Q uses Actilease® beadlet technology which makes it
stable in application. It offers exceptional bioavailability compared to
crystalline and other competitive CoQ10 products and has no negative effect on
flavour.
Following the successful European launch of several weight management products
containing Fabuless™, demand for DSM’s breakthrough ingredient looks set to
soar in the food supplements industry. A patent-protected combination of oat
and palm oil formulated into a novel emulsion, Fabuless enables consumers to
reduce calorie intake without the effort or sacrifice usually involved with
dieting.
The latest products containing PeptoPro® will also be on stand. Visitors can
sample exciting sports nutrition products and discuss new and innovative
applications for the award-winning protein hydrolysate with experts from the

In line with current trends for cosmeceuticals and nutricosmetics, the Beauty
from Within portfolio incorporates ingredients which deliver proven benefits
