DSM products for skin care

UV filters absorb, reflect, scatter and block ultraviolet radiation.

They are formulated into personal care products to protect skin and hair from the damaging effects of sunlight such as sunburns, photo ageing and increased risk of cancers. The face is the first area to receive the action of solar radiation since it is a permanently uncovered area and thus exposed to all external aggressive influences. More and more cosmetics for the daily care of face, body and hands now include UV protection. UV filters are included in skin lightening products and are used as a protection against dark marks. DSM UV filters are marketed under the exclusive PARSOL® trademark.

Our skin cells are subjected to a host of assaults from the environment. UV radiation, smoke, stress and pollutants produce oxygen-free radicals. Every day thousands of new skin cells are generated and micronutrients such as vitamins and essential fatty acids play an important role in this building process. Therefore skin health is highly dependent on the availability of nutrients from both the inside and the outside.

• Vitamin E Acetat
  the protector - moisturises skin from within, enhances skin smoothness, soothes and aids in tissue repair, protects skin from environmental stress (especially sun exposure)

• Vitamin C
  the protective corrector - is essential for the formation and function of collagen to ensure a firm skin. Vitamin C, and specifically STAY-C 50, the stable Vitamin C, are involved in the protection against free radical damage due to UV radiation, skin lightening and prevention of age spot.

• Vitamin A Palmitate
  the normalizer - has a normalising effect on dry skin, increases the skin elasticity and can regenerate prematurely aged skin

• Panthenol
  the beautifier - also known as Pro-Vitamin B5, an effective moisturiser that also makes dry skin softer and more elastic, has anti-inflammatory effects and soothes irritated skin.

• Vitamin B3
  the energizer - is a co-enzyme in the synthesis of amino acids and nucleic acids and is responsible of the release of energy from carbohydrates.

• Vitamin D3
  is required for skin cells' differentiation and growth.
