DSM and Citrique Belge

Citrique Belge was taken over by DSM in 2003, when it became a part of the DSM Nutritional Products business group.
The transfer to DSM created major synergy effects, impacting on both costs and applied fermentation technology competencies.

Through DSM Nutritional Products (DNP) Citrique Belge has access to DSM's very wide-ranging top-level knowledge network.
Currently, this network is also used to optimise and standardise the work processes as part of a Manufacturing Excellence programme.

At the same time, the DNP marketing and sales network provides effective access to all food markets. Combined with our own qualified logistic organisation, all of this results in a very customer-oriented and top-quality service. We are planning to expand this service even further in the next few years

Ever since Mr Alphonse Cappuyns discovered new biological methods to produce citric acid cost efficiently, Citrique Belge has proved to be innovative and progressive.
We will continue to work in this tradition to safeguard our cost and quality leadership in the increasingly competitive world market.

Vision 2010 - Building on Strenghts

DSM announced its new strategic programme for the next five years on 6 October 2005.
The strategy is building on the solid foundations laid down in the Vision 2005 programme, which successfully helped DSM to bring about a portfolio shift towards specialty products (life-science products and top-quality materials), achieving more stable and higher profits for the company.

The new strategic programme, Vision 2010 - Building on Strengths, focuses on :

  • market-driven growth and innovation

  • increasing presence in emerging economies

  • operational excellence
