Aquaculture: Vitamin B12

Properties

Vitamin B12 is the generic name for a group of compounds exhibiting the qualitative biologic activity of cyanocobalamin (Illus. 1). Adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin are the metabolically active forms. Cyanocobalamin is not a naturally occurring form of the vitamin but is the most widely used form of cobalamin in practice because of its relative availability and stability.
