Riboflavin and vitamin B2 are the common designations of a specific compound, 7,8-dimethyl-10-(1'-D-ribityl)-isoalloxazine. Riboflavin is a yellow, hydrophilic, tricyclic molecule that is usually phosphorylated in biologic systems (Illus. 1).
