Our Markets in Sub-Saharan Africa

From the South African office, we are responsible for the business in 32 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Due to this large area, our efforts are assisted by distributors located in specific countries.

No two countries in our region are the same, and hence we engage with each country in a specific and individualised manner.

In the sub-Saharan Africa region, we develop and maintain business with all food, pharmaceutical and personal care (cosmetics) customers. New product development and refining optimal products that suit their markets and their competitive environment is our goal.

We work with governments and aid agencies on projects such as staple food fortification, school feeding and relief feeding. Apart from supplying vitamin and mineral premixes for these programmes, we also offer a wealth of scientific and technical support. Currently DSM Nutritional Products South Africa has significant interests in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Ivory Coast. With our extensive network of distributors and customers throughout Africa we are exposed to the unique challenges and requirements presented by their vastly different environments. This network enables us to provide our customers with value-added products, and partner them as their supplier of choice in their respective business ventures.
