Vitamins

General Benefits

Vitamins are defined as organic compounds which:

  • Are required for normal growth and maintenance of the body functions
  • Do not provide energy and do not serve as building units in the body
  • Catalyze reactions, as part of the enzyme systems within the organism
  • Are present in natural foodstuffs and are not produced in the body except
    for Vitamin D
  • Help protect skin cells and tissues (such as vitamin A and Pro-vitamin B5 (Panthenol))

The Role of Vitamins in High Performance Cosmetics
  • Vitamins help to provide a beneficial environment for the protection, correction and renewal process of hair, skin and nails.
  • Addition of vitamins at the proper levels and in scientifically formulated vehicles, can enhance the performance of cosmetics and toiletries by increasing their performance, and functionality.
  • Of particular interest in cosmetics are vitamins A, E, C, D, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), vitamin B6 and their derivatives. Also, Phytantriol and Omega-6 Oils (Borage Oil and Evening Primrose Oil) are very useful in enhancing the performance of cosmetics and toiletry products.
