A client required rapid preparation of kg amounts of both enantiomers of a difficult non-functionalized amine. The only process available to the client was a complex classical resolution with very low yield, so they came to DSM for assistance.
We used our Chirality Transfer technology, which employs a cost-effective chiral auxiliary molecule, to develop a process with 100% yield at 100% enantiomeric excess for both enantiomers.
The process was developed in only one month, and provided our client with the products they wanted, very cost-effectively.
