A client of ours produces a drug which requires a certain kind of enzyme. They needed a specific amount within a relatively short period of time. This was a case where certain transformations had to be carried out microbiologically rather than chemically because of the complexities in the reactions.
We solved the problem by combining our expertise in fermentation and biocatalysis. In this combination we were able to meet the time requirements while, at the same time, reduce the price and create a more cost-effective solution.
