DSM's Greenville North Carolina site was honored Thursday, November 15th as
the recipient of the 2007 North Carolina International Community and Economic
Development Award. The award is given by the N.C. Department of Commerce in
recognition of the important civic and philanthropic contributions made by
foreign-owned businesses.
DSM was among five large company finalists and 12 finalists overall. The
Greenville site currently supports 1200 employees and is very involved in
supporting the local community on two very important issues - education and
health. DSM is strongly committed to giving back to the community in which we
operate and are proud that we have so many employees who devote their time to
volunteering in the public school systems, The United Way, The March of Dimes,
The American Cancer Society, Chamber of Commerce, Drew Steele/Skip Holtz and
East Carolina University. “Like all DSM sites worldwide, the Greenville
facility is guided by DSM's Core Values - respect for people, valuable
partnerships and good corporate citizenship”, says Terry Novak, President of
DSM Pharmaceuticals, ”by living these values in our every day actions and
decisions, we strive to improve the quality of life for all. We are very
proud, and humbled, to receive this award from “the North Carolina Department
of Commerce.”
DSM's good corporate citizenship was also recognized earlier this year by the
Pitt County Development Commission who named the facility Pitt County Industry
of the Year.
